Electronic Metalwork Services has increased its component-finishing capacity with the purchase of a second Timesavers 22 series finishing machine.
The new machine is the same model as our existing Timesavers equipment and has been added following the successful introduction of the first system.
Timesavers machines are used to remove any sharp edges created during punching or cutting. They can also apply a more consistent edge radius and surface finish across suitable sheet-metal components.
Installing a second machine provides additional capacity and allows more components to be processed without creating a finishing bottleneck between cutting, forming and assembly operations.
The matching machines also give us greater production flexibility. Similar work can be processed across either system, making it easier to manage workloads, maintenance and urgent customer requirements.
Consistent edge finishing is increasingly important for components that will be handled, assembled, welded, painted or powder coated. A controlled finishing process can improve component safety, appearance and preparation for subsequent manufacturing stages.
The additional Timesavers machine supports our aim of completing more manufacturing processes in-house. This gives EMS greater control over quality, scheduling and lead times while reducing the need to send components to external suppliers.
The investment further strengthens our ability to provide customers with a complete sheet-metal manufacturing service, from initial cutting and punching through to forming, welding, finishing and assembly.
mproving capacity, repeatability and production planning.
This investment forms part of EMS continuing commitment to adopting technology that improves quality, productivity and customer service.
